Letter to future partners:

Dear partner,

I believe that the first thing I should say about myself is the fact that I am a dreamer. There was a time in my life when I thought this was a defect. But it has been about four years since I changed that way of thinking. When I came here to the United States, which, to me, is the land of opportunity, the country was in quarantine because of covid; in that time, I decided to write my first novel: Love in the Storm. I have always had a very creative mind. I loved playing with dolls and giving them life. So, I started giving life to stories and characters, creating, and inventing them.

From the first moment I started writing the first pages of this contemporary novel, I knew I was creating something special, something that needed to be shared with the world. Each character that inhabits this fictional universe is like an extension of myself, as I have seen them being born, growing, facing their fears, and overcoming unimaginable challenges. They have become so real tome, steeped in layers of emotion, with complex motivations and journeys that reflect our own human experiences.

As I gained confidence in my writing, I decided to expand my horizons and embark on more ambitious writing projects.

My screenplay is more than just words written on paper. It is an invitation for people to embark on a magical journey that will transport them to a world where dreams become possible. It is an invitation to explore deep and current themes, to question, to reflect and perhaps even to discover something new about themselves.

As a psychoanalyst, I have been researching frequently on the perverted mind. Perversion is a behavior deviation. It is a concept used in psychoanalysis to indicate a kind of sexual depravity. Vitório Nolasco will be our protagonist of the first season, with ten episodes. He presents behaviors characterized as deviant from the norms usually accepted by society.

According to psychoanalysis and psychiatry, perversion is a psychopathology that has no cure. However, through professional care, there is the possibility of achieving the patient’s well-being and controlling his symptoms.

What has attracted the attention of psychiatrists, psychoanalysts and other researchers of the human mind is the fact that, often, in a movie, in a series, in a novel or book, the villain, who usually presents some psychopathology, is considered the most attractive, the most coveted and the most interesting character. Often the “good” character is left aside; he gets lost in the story. Here I would dare to assume that perhaps this happens because the reader or viewer develops a hope that there will be a regeneration on the part of the villain of the story, because they end up falling in love with the small acts of kindness that he demonstrates throughout it. What will happen to Vitório Nolasco? Will there be a cure for him? We will know that intime.

So, my dear producer... My work is here, ready to be shown to the world. I wear my heart on my sleeve and my passion is flowing in every word, hoping that you can see what I see, feel what I feel, and together we can dive into this incredible journey that is my screenplay.

With love, Luciana Soares.
